Meaning differs here Meaning differs here Case 1 + Infinitive Case 2 + Gerund 1. (TRY) : We tried to implement the new pan. 2. (STOP) : I stopped to speak to the boss. ( could speak to him ) 1. ( TRY) We tried implanting the new plan. ( tried a new method ) 2. (stop) I stopped speaking to the boss. ( never spoke to him again) (failed)
Infinitive Gerund 3. (REMEMBER) : We remembered to check the contact s fine print. ( we didn t forget to do this) 4. (FORGOT): We forgot to book the meeting room. ( we didn t remember to do this ) 3. (REMEMBER) We remembered checking the the contract s fine print. ( we re not sure we did it ) 4. ( FORGOT) We forgot booking it last week. ( we didn't remember we had done it )
