  1. The Great Depression Source Analysis Name : Write answers in RED

  2. Answer these questions before analyzing When did the Great depression occur? (beginning to end) What was the Dust Bowl? What was the name program that tried to get America out of the Great Depression?

  3. Desperate Times How did he lose his money in the stock market? What is this day referred to as? Why does he want cash and not some other form a payment? Why is he so desperate to sell his car? Do some research, what is $100 in 1929 worth today?

  4. 1928 Campaign Look up the phrase to the right. Who said it, when did they say it, and what does it mean? Knowing when the Great Depression happened, how did people feel about this promise?

  5. 1932 Election What happened in the 1932 election? Who won/lost? Why was this election not even close? Why did the red guy lose so many states?

  6. Fireside Chats I want to talk for a few minutes with the people of the United States about banking -- with the comparatively few who understand the mechanics of banking but more particularly with the overwhelming majority who use banks for the making of deposits and the drawing of checks. I want to tell you what has been done in the last few days, why it was done, and what the next steps are going to be. What was the purpose of these fireside chats? What is FDR talking about in this chat? What phrases in the text let you know who FDR is talking to? How did people listen to the fireside chats? How did people used to hear the president speak and how is this significant?

  7. New Deal Who are the different characters representing? What does the middle character mean by we may have to change remedies if we don t get results? What do the bottles on the table mean? List 2 of the abbreviations and what they stood for? What does this illustration say about the New Deal?
