Digital Footprint HOW A DIGITAL FOOTPRINT CAN AFFECT YOU!
What is a digital footprint A digital footprint is something you put on the internet. Once you post it, it will be their forever. Someone can check your digital footprint by googling your name is checking what pops up. If someone google your name and finds whatever social media you own (if you have one) and they look at that social media, they would be looking at part of your digital footprint.
THE FUTURE Your digital footprint can definitely affect your future opportunities. By just posting one stupid thing that a couple of friends share and you cant get off the internet. If you are applying for a job or university and whomever you are applying to if they were to look up your name (which they probably would do) and find the stupid thing you posted when you were young the chances of you getting that job or getting into that university that you applied for are drastically decreased.
THE FUTURE Your digital footprint can also affect your future in a positive way. If you are applying for a photographic job and on your Facebook you have posted all these nice photos you have taken yourself and you show your passion for photography. If your employer looks at your Facebook the chances of getting that job that you are employing for is drastically increased.
How you can keep your digital footprint clean One thing you can do to keep you digital footprint clean is to think before you post. Thinking before you post is essential. Think that hey if I comment on this soccer video and say You are bad at soccer could that affect my digital footprint. The answer is yes, you really have to think before you post.
How you can keep your digital footprint clean Another thing you can do to keep your digital footprint clean is to not have any excess social media accounts if you do not use a certain social media account, say Instagram you have had it for two months and you have made two silly comments on it, you have never posted and havnt really done anything on the account and you don t really play on doing anything on that account you should just delete it.
HOW YOU CAN KEEP YOUR DIGITAL FOOTPRINT CLEAN Another thing you can do to keep your digital footprint clean is to stay away 3rd party websites. Going on these websites can be bad for your digital footprint because a lot of the time these websites are not legitimate websites.
What I have learned. I have learned a lot about digital footprints, I have learned how digital footprints can massively affect your future postivly or negatively, you need to be smart about your digital footprint and you definitely need to think before you post that is a very important aspect to keeping a clean digital footprint.
