  1. Accelerators for Neutrinos (AF2) Update December 22, 2021 Gianluigi Arduini, John Galambos, Bob Zwaska,

  2. AF2 Status Community meetings and workshops Pursuing PIP-II Exploitation workshop relevant to other TGs Approach of AF2 Accelerators for neutrinos 1. What are the neutrino physics accelerator needs? 2. What are the current accelerator capabilities? 3. What development is needed? (Facilities, R&D, etc.) Liaise with artificial neutrino sources (NF-9) for part 1 Updating of table underway Started a table using input received on part 2 Updating of table underway may expect a few white papers Community Discussions on part 3 most white papers here

  3. White Papers Existing worldwide accelerator capabilities few or no white papers, content entirely in TG report Existing program and that in development several white papers Long Baseline (PIP-II / LBNF-DUNE / T2HK / etc.) Short Baseline DAR sources Longstanding Proposals several white papers More DAR sources (pion / muon / kaon / isotopes) ESS-like source Neutrino factory comes for free with muon collider Tagged neutrinos Cross-sections from precise beams (e.g. nuSTORM) Emerging concepts several white papers Tau neutrino beams Neutrinos from colliders: high-energy proton-proton collisions Needs for technology R&D (outside AF7) White paper format will vary between categories.

  4. PIP-II Exploitation (PIP IIe) Broad workshop hosted by Fermilab & community on PIP-II physics and potential accelerator enhancements Primarily organized through PIP-II organization Unfortunate timing due to CD-3 review at start of March Goals: Common communication between experimentalists and accelerator specialists Catalog experimental opportunities Identify key accelerator features and enhancements that are available Identify areas needing white papers, and refine others Expect commonalities with other working groups (AF5, AF7, etc.)

  5. Plans for next few months Further community workshops Encourage PIP-II exploitation Workshop NF-9 to develop clear prioritized high level physics goals with associated accelerator needs Updating of capabilities tables Plenary Sessions on: White paper generation Capabilities tables High-level outline of Topical Group Report Understand how to incorporate input without white papers
