Family Centered Services of CT, led by Executive Director Cheryl Burack, offers a nationally-replicated youth development program focusing on teen pregnancy prevention and academic success. Through TOP Sessions, 15-17-year-olds engage in guided discussions, community service learning, and individual projects to promote healthy behaviors and civic responsibility.   2. Since September 2013;54 WHHS students have been enrolled in TOP Sessions meet 1-2 times a week Curriculum guided discussions and activities(classroom time) 20+ hours of Community Service Learning

  3. Nationally-replicated youth development approach aimed at preventing teen pregnancy, and helping young people make consistent progress in school Guided classroom discussions and meaningful service learning Evidence-based, Tier-1 teen pregnancy prevention program (CT DSS, US OAH)

  4. 15-17 year olds, - curriculum focuses on healthy behavior in the context of romantic relationships, exploration of values, goal setting and assertiveness

  5. CSL=academic goals+ personal growth+ civic responsibility Engages students directly in the issues and needs of their community Community service/volunteering vs. CSL: the learning component

  6. Steps: Preparation Action Reflection Celebration Service learning standards: youth voice (in choosing and leading projects), duration and intensity of projects link to curriculum more
