An independent hospice established in 1994 serving the people of Portsmouth and South East Hampshire A 22 bedded in patient unit A 24/7 virtual ward responding to patients and families in the home, be that holding them until admission, responding to crisis, symptom management or working with those imminently dying Care at home through a fast track contract Living Well Services that place an emphasis on living well with a life-limiting illness - patients and carers can drop in and gain advice and support through the range of programmes that are on offer to provide support and to maintain individuals resilience Bereavement support for adults and children both 1:1 and groups To find out more click here: About Rowans Hospice - Rowans Hospice

  3. Our Strategic Priorities 2023/24 1. To protect and expand out clinical services 2. To collaborate with the NHS and other like-minded charities to facilitate access to high quality palliative and end of life care for all 3. To be recognised as an employer of choice by valuing, developing, and nurturing our workforce 4. To work with commissioners to consolidate contracts and increase statutory funding, while being prepared to reduce core services if additional statutory funding is not forthcoming 5. To monitor and maximise all charitable income streams 6. To continue the refurbishment of the main hospice building by attracting additional funding sources that do not compromise or compete with income for existing services

  6. Our Financial Position Rowans currently has one of the smallest NHS contributions to service costs of any hospice in the four nations. We are currently in negotiations bout future funding. We raise over 90% of the costs of service delivery from supporters. We are currently looking to make savings of 0.6million per annum to balance on budget (without cutting our care services). Our income streams come from a variety of sources and can be broken down below based on our FY23 figures: Income Retail Income 24% of income Legacies 23% of income NHS & Local Authority Contracts/Grants 18% of income Donations 11% of income Retail Gift Aid 10% of income Other Fundraising 9% Other income 5%

The team you will be joining Our new CEO, Kirsteen Murray, was appointed in 2023 joining our current Director of Finance, IT & Facilities, Samantha Jelliff We appointed a new Medical Director, Katie Jerram at the end of 2023 We are recruiting a new Director of Care, Director of Income Generation and a Head of HR to complete our senior team.
