Title IX/Sexual Harassment: Federal and state law and COCC policy prohibiting sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking on college campuses or at college- sponsored event.
Sexual Assault: Sexual behavior that occurs without consent of the recipient, including those who are unable to consent either due to age or lack of capacity. Dating or Domestic Violence: Violence and abuse committed by a person over a current or former dating or intimate partner, including digital abuse. Stalking: Pattern of repeated and unwanted attention, harassment, contact, or any other conduct directed at a specific person in order to make that person to feel fear.
Important Notes, I: Unreasonably interferes with academic or work performance or has created an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment Gender or gender identity doesn t apply: All forms of sexual harassment are prohibited.
Important Notes II: Federal: Severe, pervasive and objectively offensive (with a caveat) Institutional jurisdiction, within U. S. Important Notes III: Digital abuse is prohibited in all Title IX situation and includes internet, cell phones, social media. Third party harassment is also prohibited. Title IX applies to COCC events, on- or off- campus
