Importance of Craft and otherenterprise opportunities as contributions to livelihoods It being a transit point from with tourists embark on Tours including eco-tourism in the Cockpit Country

  5. SDAA (OAS and RCL) meet the Counsellor and Resort BoardChairman Mayor, First Onsite Visit Strong stakeholder interest Institutional and Policy frameworks in place to support Project Vision 2030 Local Government Committees TPDCo, TEF Multihazard programmes

ISSUES AND DEVELOPMENT PLANS MAIN ISSUES Financial benefits/opportunities to be gained from the pier development needs to be realized by the local merchants and residents, including growing earnings from thecraft sector. Need to protect, maintain, develop and better safeguard the significant National and International Heritage features of the Parish whilst increasing leverage foreconomicgrowth from tourism DEVELOPMENT PLANS To improve the ambience of the town through fa ade improvement and the installation of the required street furniture, guided by requirements of the Jamaica National Heritage Trust. (May include rehabilitation of public buildings.) Toenhance walkways (sidewalks etc.) To rehabilitatethedrainage system To install adequate signage in order to promote and improve visitor convenience.
