  1. Going Beyond Cable Funding FCTV

  2. Going Beyond Cable Funding Introduction FCTV, like many P.E.G. organizations, receives the bulk of its funding in the form of payments from the local cable provider as a result of the license between the town and the cable provider. The Town of Falmouth negotiated operating funds of 4.5% of GAR from Comcast. Of these funds, FCTV receives 4.3%, sends 0.2% to the town and may request 0.1% back upon proof of earned income of that amount or more for each quarter. With the rise of cord-cutting, FCTV has seen a reduction in this funding. Operating funds historic balance: 2017: $888,676.47 2018: $952,059.32 2019: $902,498.49 2020: $900,377.38 For years, FCTV has supplemented its revenue with multiple earned income streams and these sources of income are now more important than ever. FCTV * FCTV also receives capital payments of $50,100 annually.

  10. Going Beyond Cable Funding Development In 2019, FCTV created a volunteer Development Committee to assist with fundraising. The committee is made up of several board members and members of the community who have experience with fundraising, writing, and friend-raising . This committee gives FCTV a fresh look at our fundraising literature and efforts, bringing in new ideas and strategies that we may not have had in the past. This resulted in new ways of reaching out and telling our story. FCTV

  11. Going Beyond Cable Funding Development In late 2019, FCTV enlisted the expertise of a experienced fundraising consultant, Amanda Ravens, and with her guidance, along with key staff and board members, developed a year-long development strategy and crafted a Case For Support: Funds raised support our dedication to provide unparalleled access to local information and to enhance the ways we educate, connect and empower our community neighbors. In May of 2019, FCTV officially opened the Falmouth Community Media Center, a state-of-the-art facility which provides a higher profile and allows us to expand our services. This facility offers the opportunity for new revenue streams, including Naming Opportunities. This statement is included in all of our fundraising outreach material. FCTV
