HOW THE LEOPARD
GOT ITS SPOTS
INTRO ONE
ONCE, LONG AGO, IN
THE FAR OFF JUNGLES
OF ANOTHER LAND,
THERE LIVED A
LEOPARD. HE WAS
LONG AND LITHESOME
AND EVER SO LOVELY
TO LOOK AT. THIS
LEOPARD, HOWEVER,
WAS NOT OF THE
COVERED-IN-SPOTS
KIND, BUT INSTEAD, HIS
SKIN WAS SMOOTH AND
PLAIN, AND NO MORE
INTERESTING THAN A
COMMON-OR-GARDEN
CAT.
INTRO TWO
IN THE FAR OFF DAYS OF
AN EVER-SO-OLD
JUNGLE, DEEP IN THE
DEPTHS OF AFRICA,
THERE LIVED A
LEOPARD. THIS PLAIN-
AND-SIMPLE, EVER SO
DULL LEOPARD WAS
NOT, DEAR ONE, LIKE
THE LEOPARDS YOU OR
I KNOW. OH NO! THIS
LEOPARD, THOUGH HE
HAD HIS FIERCESOME
TEETH AND RAZOR-LIKE
CLAWS, HAD NO SPOTS.

How the Leopard Got Its Spots
INTRO ONE
Once, long ago, in the far off jungles of another land, there lived a leopard. He was long
and lithesome and ever so lovely to look at. This leopard, however, was not of the
covered-in-spots kind, but instead, his skin was smooth and plain, and no more interesting
than a common-or-garden cat.
INTRO TWO
In the far off days of an ever-so-old jungle, deep in the depths of Africa, there lived a
leopard. This plain-and-simple, ever so dull leopard was not, Dear One, like the leopards
you or I know. Oh no! This leopard, though he had his fearsome teeth and razor-like claws,
had no spots.
