In the county of Wiltshire is the world-famous ancient monument Stonehenge, a giant circle of standing stones that was built over four thousand years ago. It is also home to Avebury, a village that sits within a huge Stone Circle, as well as many moreStone Age and Bronze Age finds.
Design and make an ancient stone circle or a replica of Stonehenge. Be creative in the way you make your stone circle. Try portraying the stones in different ways. Ideas include: Silhouette art, using a colour wash for the background, then black paint or paper Pencil sketches, focusing on long shadows Bold, unusual colours Collage each stone could be a different pattern
Much of Wiltshire sits on chalk, and the county has chalk figures carved into the hillsides. Make a printing plate of a chalk figure using cardboard and string Make a collage Learn how to draw horses using on- line tutorials or how about chalk carving? Look at these miniature trainers!
