  1. Digital Footprint By Mara Rusu

  2. How It Affects You Your digital footprint can affect you in many ways. One of these ways is when you are looking for a new job, you might think that your photos are private , but they aren t. Job employers can search your name and can easily find private photos that can affect your employment chances. And It s not just jobs, school administration looks up potential students on the internet, as well.

  3. Google yourself. What comes up? If nothing comes up, congratulations, you are now shaping your digital footprint. Here are some tips to keep your footprint positive, appropriate, and safe. If something comes up that you thought was private, follow the tips for the future on how to have a better digital footprint.

  4. 1. Make sure what your posting online isnt personal. Think, would you really want your grandma or your teacher to see this? 2. Also think about how it is impacting other students and teachers. Because you are online, things can come across as mean or hurtful, even if you weren t intending for it to be negative. 3. Lastly, be kind to others. The easiest way to achieve a positive digital footprint is to simply be kind. Make sure you don t hate on anything or anyone, and if you re having a bad day, don t rant about it on the internet. Remember that everything is public!

  5. What I learned I learned a lot throughout this project. I learned that the internet isn t just a fun place where you can blog about all your feelings. It is a serious network, and shouldn t be taken lightly. That is what I would try to tell other students, and I would also encourage them to watch the same videos that my teacher showed me. If we work together as a community, we can help people learn about how big an impact your digital footprint makes.
