2. Objectives Students will be able to identify what an ar verb is in Spanish Students will be able to link subject pronouns with its appropriate ar ending Students will be able to conjugate ar verbs

3. Apuntes What is a verb? A verb is a word to describe an action. An infinitive is a verb that has not been assigned a subject pronoun. Examples: to run, to sleep, to eat, to dance, to play, to jump, to talk, to walk, to type, to drink, to hit, to study, to juggle, to laugh, ect Actividad: Write down as many verbs as you see in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US8mGU1MzYw

4. Apuntes Verbs in Spanish There are 3 types of verbs in Spanish. They all have 1 of these 3 endings. -ar verbs -er verbs -ir verbs home

5. Apuntes -ar verbs All verbs have a stem and an ending. -ar verbs are verbs that end with ar Examples: the stem is in brown and the ending is in red. hablar; to talk bailar; to dance cantar; to sing comprar; to buy

6. Apuntes Subject Pronouns Let s go over our subject pronouns because every verb needs a subject Nosotros Nosotras I We Yo Y all (Spain) Vosotros Vosotras You (informal) T He She They l Ella Usted Ellos Ellas ustedes You (plural) You (formal) home

7. Apuntes New Endings Each subject pronoun gets its own ending! o amos I We Y all (Spain) as is You (informal) He She They a an You (plural) You (formal) home

8. Apuntes Verbs in action There are three easy steps to conjugation. 1. Identify the verb and the subject you want yo and hablar 2. Drop the ar ending Yo habl 3. Add the new ending Yo hablo. I talk. hablo hablamos Hablas habl is habla hablan
