Packets will be turned in every 3 weeks for teachers to look over and grade. Google Classrooms: Teachers have added myself, Mr. Lathen, and Mr. Magallanez as co-teachers to their online classrooms which allows for administration to support teachers with technology questions that may arise or help with answering parent questions that may come up in regards to class expectations. We are also able to join in on the class virtual meetings. In addition we are able to monitor daily lessons, assignments that are being turned in, student posts, student questions, teacher and student communication, and grades.

Teachers who have sent home packets are also monitoring students on their Go Math online participation and IXL. Teachers have also reported that they are becoming more knowledgeable with utilizing the online tools to ensure that their virtual classrooms are easy to navigate for their students and parents. They report it has been extremely helpful to see their students and speak to them in this forum. Middle School Teachers will continue to schedule online class meetings.

  6. Curriculum & Instruction: Parent Feedback Parent Feedback: - Parents have disclosed to the principal and teachers that the packets and Google Classrooms are now manageable to follow and the directions are clear for them and their students. The first week of packets and the Google Classroom was overwhelming as it was a new process. For week 2 adjustments were made based on parent feedback. There had been some parents who were concerned about the amount of work/daily assignments and due dates. Some concerns were that their households have more than one child they are having to assist with work and they were feeling overwhelmed with keeping up with it all. - -

  7. Curriculum & Instruction: Parent Feedback - The principal as well as the teachers have addressed those concerns by speaking to parents and making it clear that there is definite flexibility with the workload and due dates so they are not overwhelmed with this new way of learning. A letter was sent to parents on March 27th at the end of week 1 discussing the flexibility and that students would not be penalized for taking their time to complete their work even past due dates.

  8. Curriculum & Instruction: Student Feedback Student Feedback: Students have communicated with teachers and administration the following: Primary Students: - They are enjoying the packets sent home and they love when their teachers read to them online. 3rd -8th Grade Students: They like the online learning (some had initial concerns about due dates and daily workload but that was addressed by the teachers & administration). They love seeing their classmates on Google Hangouts & Zoom. They are comfortable with online classrooms as they used Google Classroom throughout the school year. They miss their teachers, classmates, and school.
