About the Program The Biotechnology Technician certificate program provides students with an overview of the science of biotechnology as well as the technical skills necessary for employment in the industry. While certificate holders can gain entry to the field, most occupations require attainment of an Associates or Bachelor s degree. This certificate is geared towards degree holders who need specific skills for career advancement. 2

  5. Career Options and US Median Salaries Certificate + Associate Degree: Biological Technicians: $42,520 (O*NET 19-4021.00 May 2016) Assist biological and medical scientists in labs. Set up, operate, and maintain lab instruments and equipment, monitor experiments, make observations, and calculate and record results. May analyze organic substances, such as blood, food, and drugs. Certificate + Bachelor Degrees: Food Scientists & Technologists: $63,950 (O*NET 19-1012.00 May 2016) Molecular & Cellular Biologists: $74,790 (O*NET 19-1029.02 May 2016) 5
