Western Michigan University School of Social Work has implemented a new web-based software called Intern Placement Tracking (IPT) to monitor field education students, facilitating communication between students, field instructors, faculty liaisons, and field coordinators. The system ensures privacy and secure data storage while providing access based on assigned roles and permissions. Users can log in to the IPT platform to manage forms, student details, field applications, upload documents, and provide additional information such as work schedules and language skills. The platform also includes sections for students to input narrative statements and cover letters, reflecting on their professional plans, strengths, areas for improvement, and learning goals from field experiences.
